Comprehensive Physical Therapy Services

“I can honestly say I would not have been able to do it without Jeremy and Laura’s help in getting my knee rehabilitated through your physical therapy techniques. My knee was so strong during the trip and the fact that I have lost 30 pounds through the physical therapy and the exercises you gave me made the hike a whole lot easier. It was incredible to be able to accomplish the hike and I am truly indebted to you, Laura, Jeremy and the Sage Physical Therapy team.” —Dave

Sage therapists are trained in the latest evidence-based assessment and treatment techniques for properly diagnosing the source of joint or nerve pain and effectively treating the cause. We provide care for people suffering from acute conditions such as sports injuries to chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic back and neck pain and complex regional pain syndrome (RSD).

We use a combination of traditional and non-traditional therapies and employ a variety of manual therapy techniques such as:

  • Myofascial release and trigger point release
  • Strain counter strain
  • Muscle energy techniques
  • Joint mobilization
  • Soft tissue massage
  • Sacroiliac (SI) joint mobilization
  • Micropoint stimulation (MPS)
  • Dry needling

In addition to traditional physical therapy methods such as core stabilization exercises, therapeutic exercise, posture correction and training in proper body mechanics, we can incorporate biofeedback, pain management strategies and healthy lifestyle change utilizing our five health habits (hydration, nutrition, physical activity, stress management and restful sleeping practices) into our patients’ care.

Services For Seniors

For over a decade, the dedicated therapists at Sage have worked with seniors in many different settings including assisted living, acute care, in-home health care and outpatient facilities. Sage therapists work individually with seniors for compassionate treatment of osteoporosis, arthritis, balance disorders, fall prevention and post-surgical rehab.

Vertigo Treatment

Sage’s vestibular rehabilitation program is successful in treating benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), labrynthitis, and other types of vertigo. Our therapists have advanced training in vestibular disorders and are able to apply manual techniques or prescribe specific exercises to decrease or eliminate symptoms. In many cases, patients feel significant relief in less than one week.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique where a sterile, solid filament needle is inserted through the skin and muscle to target a myofascial trigger point. A trigger point is an area in a taut band of muscle that feels like a knot or a nodule, often resulting from muscle injury or repetitive strain. Dry needling is based on Western anatomical and neurophysiological principles, not to be confused with acupuncture, which is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Travel & Simons, 1999). Dry needling is typically painless, with minimal side effects (temporary muscle soreness, bruising, etc.)
