Corey Nininger, PT, DPT
Physical Therapy, Doctorate of Physical Therapy

Corey Nininger earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2018. Prior to this Corey earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science from Messiah College in 2014.

Corey enjoys treating patients from a variety of conditions including orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, vestibular and balance, sports, and exercise related, geriatric, cardiopulmonary, and other forms of health and wellness care. Corey is excited to be practicing in Frederick, MD where he was born and raised. Corey graduated from Tuscarora High School in 2010 and was a member of the 2008 Boys Soccer 3A State Champions. Corey enjoys playing soccer, snowboarding, various water sports, and any form of staying healthy and active. Corey strives to make an impact in his community and for his patients to regain their functional ability and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Matthew Ball, DPT
Doctorate of Physical Therapy

Matthew earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021. Prior to this, he attended Hood College in Frederick, Maryland for his bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in chemistry in 2019. During his time at Hood he swam four years and remains a Hood record holder in the 200 yard butterfly. He also completed an internship at Fort Detrick’s Biological Research Facility. Matt grew up in Westminster, Maryland and partially attended high school at Winters Mill. The remaining years of high school he was home educated in order to travel cross country to national parks over the school year. Matt has traveled to over 50 national parks and monuments. In his free time Matt enjoys skiing, cycling, hiking, golfing and any form of outdoor activity. Matt enjoys treating a variety of patients' presentations including: orthopedic, vestibular, and neurologic. Matt looks forward to building a relationship with his patients as he assists them in reaching their goals and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Farid Boualam, DPT
Doctorate of Physical Therapy

Farid Boualam earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2017. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2013.

Farid is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, and Clinical Instructor. His clinical focus is on orthopedic/sport injury mechanics, treatment, and prevention as well as chronic pain. Farid spends much of his time with patients one-on-one using exercise, load/stress management, and education. Pain, injury, and performance are influenced by a number of factors in an individual's life. His approach addresses the multitude of these contributors and works with patients to come up with strategies where they are actively involved in their recovery.

Kaitlyn Martinaitis, DPT
Doctorate of Physical Therapy

Kaitlyn graduated from Towson University with a degree in exercise science in 2014. She went on to obtain her doctor of physical therapy degree from Temple University in 2017. She is certified through the American Institute of Balance to work with individuals with vestibular disorders and concussions. She is also certified and trained in using blood flow restriction to help individuals reach maximum strength after injury. Kaitlyn has taken several courses related to running gait and injuries to help her fellow runners in the community. In her spare time she enjoys running, pilates, yoga, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog.

Marijo Pickett Birkhimer, PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Marijo received her certification as a physical therapy assistant in 2009 from Carroll County Community College. Marijo entered the field of PTA in April 2009. Marijo previously worked at other physical therapy offices as PT tech for 3 year, while in PTA school. Marijo has worked as a PTA for over 10 years specializing in orthopedic sport rehab conditions both in outpatient and Home care. Marijo lives in sykesville and enjoys spending her time with husband, two daughters and two dogs. Marijo and her family enjoy doing outdoor activities such as ATV riding, fishing, hiking and most of all playing soccer and basketball in multiple clubs.

Kim Rea, PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Kim graduated with her physical therapy assistant license in 2015. As a PTA, Kim works closely with the physical therapists to execute the prescribed plan tailored to each patient. Kim excels in several modalities including manual and Craniosacral therapies. She is a big advocate of movement and exercise-based physical therapy, and provides education and awareness to her patients on how to decrease pain.

In her spare time, Kim, her husband and two dogs live an active lifestyle. They travel frequently and love to explore and experience new locations. Kim and her husband enjoy lifting weights and being fit.

Adrian Ionut Mihalache, PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Adrian received his certification as a physical therapy assistant in 2019 from Montgomery College. In addition, he has a Bachelor of Science degree in geology and master’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Ploiesti in Romania.

Adrian entered the field as a PTA in September 2019. Previously, he volunteered and worked as a PT Tech in various settings. He also worked part-time for a family medical practice while studying to be a PTA.

Adrian lives in Gaithersburg and loves spending time with his family. He has a great passion for the outdoors, including fishing, hiking, biking and playing tennis. He also enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
